Maggie Smolka is excited to be working in her home state!
Maggie is from the Pittsburgh area, but also lived in Florida and California while growing up. She started her journalism training at Emerson College in Boston, MA. Her television news career started in Southwest Virginia/Northeast Tennessee, where she was a weekend anchor/reporter. Maggie then joined the WTAJ news team in July 2017 and is now on the anchor desk weekday mornings. Maggie loves being able to wake up with you! She’s thrilled to be part of a team that genuinely wants to start everyone’s day off with a smile.
In addition to anchoring the morning show, Maggie also reports. Her favorite part of the job is connecting with viewers and telling their stories. If you see Maggie out in the community, make sure to stop and say hi!
