Schrader’s Florist & Greenhouse in Johnstown filled more than 400 orders and the shop even had to turn away customers looking for home delivery service.
The family-run business has been open since 1904. Workers said the store gets new clients all the time, but the owners have loyal customers they’ve formed connections with over the years.
“I just heard about a story today about a little boy who came up here with a nickel to get flowers for his mom. And they gave him a big bunch of flowers for a nickel. And he’s always had a special place in his heart for Schrader’s since then,” said Debby Brotemarkle, the secretary for Schrader’s Florist & Greenhouse.
Workers at the flower shop said they’re looking forward to tonight after all the flower arrangements have been delivered.
