A father goes the extra mile, turning his daughter’s wheelchair into a mini police car.
Seven-year-old Haylee Hauck is getting behind the wheel of her own portable Thornton police car built by her dad.
The cardboard design is a shell fits over her wheelchair.
The wheelchair is needed to give Haylee a break from time to time.
Haylee has an epileptic condition that depletes her kidneys.
“I made it so that she could have fun,” says her father Paul Hauck, “So that when she gets in and out of her wheelchair, she has an idea why she needs a wheelchair, but now it’s fun.”
It all started because last Halloween when a Thornton, Colorado Police Officer stopped by to show Haylee his cruiser.
She loved it so much, her father made Haylee her own!
