NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The NFL said they wanted the draft to be a free event and that goes for the parking as well.  

While the Draft Experience will take over Nissan Stadium, Butch Spyridon with the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp says lots A, B, C, and D will still be open and free.  

Later this week, there are plans to announce that two more large lots will be available as well.  

Spyridon says they have contracted with some state lots that will be available in the evening the draft weekend also.  

In all, Spyridon says there be at least six free lots in addition to Nissan Stadium and they do plan to offer shuttle service at some of those lots.  

We spoke to some employees downtown who are ditching their cars in East Nashville and planning to ride scooters over to lower Broadway.  

“A lot of our employees usually park at the Titans stadium and walk across the pedestrian bridge, because that’s about the only free parking they’ve got for downtown and with that being taken up I think a lot of our employees are jumping on the lime scooters for the draft,” explained Jim Stimson General Manager of The Stillery.  

Meantime the city is encouraging those that work downtown who have the option to work at home.
