Amanda Kenney joined the WTAJ News team as the evening co-anchor in 2017. She is an Emmy Award-winning journalist passionate about telling stories and informing viewers of the issues impacting their community. Amanda also hosts a series on WTAJ News and a podcast called Momtrepreneurs that gives you a glimpse into the amazing lives of women balancing a successful business and happy family.
She comes to Central PA from Southwest Virginia where she was a reporter and anchor at WDBJ7. In Roanoke, she covered everything from tornadoes to the Vice Presidential Debate, and the investigation into the tragic deaths of her friends and co-workers Alison Parker and Adam Ward. She’s made other stops along the way in College Station and Waco, Texas and Binghamton, New York.
Amanda studied Broadcast Journalism at Hofstra University and minored in Political Science. She even studied Italian Politics in Venice, Italy! Amanda is involved in a number of organizations in Central PA that strive to help make our community a better place. She’s a self-described foodie, always looking for new recipes and restaurants to try! Amanda enjoys hiking, skiing, taking her SUP board out on the water, and relaxes with yoga and meditation. She’s also in love with her rescue pup Paxton!
